On Monday 28th September 2015 Uljanik d.d. has formally signed a Contract with the buyer Livestock Transport & Trading Co. K.S.C. from Kuwait. The signing of this Contract means the opening of a completely new and interesting market and certainly the realization of an extremely important project. The ceremonial signing was, beside the President of the ULJANIK Group, Mr Gianni Rossanda, and his closest collaborators also attended by Mr Bader Al Subaiee (chairman), Mr Osama Bodai (Chief Executive Officer) and Mr Ahmad Al Majed (Manager International Trading) from the Company in Kuwait , Mr Jaya Kumar Iyer (Assistance Manager Director) from the Company KLTT and Mr Chris Murthi (Managing Director) from the British brokerage firm, Quintus Shipping Limited. On behalf of Uljanik shipyard, the Contract was signed by Mr Serđo Pajković, Director of the Sales Sector.

On 17th September 2015 Yard 511 (13174) – a LPG (liquid petroleum gas) barge for the transportation of liquefied gas constructed by ULJANIK Shipyard for the shipyard 3. MAJ, i.e. for the Swedish company Wisby Tankers AB, was launched into the sea from slipway no 1.

The godmother at the launching was Ms Nina Milevoj, human resources officer in Uljanik shipyard, who, with the cutting of the rope, launched the barge into the sea. On this occasion Ms Milevoj, thanked Wisby Tankers AB and ULJANIK Shipyard for the trust shown and the opportunity given to her to take part in this significant moment when the craft and the sea touched for the first time. “The honor that has been given to me by Uljanik to be the godmother of the barge will remain with me forever since the first contact of the barge with the sea represents the end of one and the beginning of new phase in the construction of the barge,” said Ms Milevoj on that occasion.

The keel for the construction of Yard 507, a multipurpose Vessel for different types of special works at sea and contracted in 2013 by ULJANIK Brodogradilište with the company Sofidra S.A. of Luxembourg, has been laid on Wednesday 27th August 2014 on Slipway No2.

With an overall length of 138 m and width of 32 m, the Vessel will be equipped for the laying of cables on the sea bottom as well as for filling in the channels in which the cables have been laid. It can also be used for the transportation of cargo on an open deck, e.g. wind turbine power plants or it can be used as a working platform for construction works, underwater and off shore projects. This complex floating object will be driven by four MAN Diesel&Turbo engines each having a power of 2.970 kW at 720 rpm (electropropulsion), while the entirely automated engine room will have an installed power of 2 MW.

ULJANIK shipyard has recently delivered to Fincantieri’s shipyard Marghera, located close to Venice, a funnel and part of the superstructure for a cruiser which will be named “Costa Diadema”.

The drawing up of workshop documentation started in February of this current year and same was done in Uljanik’s Hull Construction in accordance with Fincantieri class. Uljanik shipyard has also made the steel part of the construction section, while all the works on the aluminium part and locksmith activities were executed by the workers of Proizvodnja Opreme from Vodnjan. As we have learned, the funnel section will be mounted in one piece on the cruiser.

On the 14th of September 2012 ULJANIK Shipyard delivered yard 498, named “Barda”, to the Azerbaijan State Caspian Shipping Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This is the first of two contracted ships, of 5000 tonnes deadweight, for the transportation of wagons on the Caspian Sea.

The ship, of length 154.80m and width 17.5m, will be driven by two Uljanik-MAN B&W engines of type 5S26MC6 each having a power of 2000 kW at 250 RPM and which will achieve 14.5 knots sailing speed with the overall transport of 54 wagons.

The delivery documents were signed by Mr. Serđo Pajković, Marketing Director of Uljanik Shipyard and Mr. Shahid Orujov, assistent of the Director of the Azerbaijan State Caspian Shipping Company. After the signing of the documents, the ceremony of the raising of the flags was organized onboard “Barda” with which the delivery ceremony, attended by the shipowner’s representatives, ship’s crew and leading people of ULJANIK, was concluded.

As a reminder, several ships constructed in Uljanik Shipyard for Azerbeijan State Caspian Shipping Company are sailing today, and Uljanik has constructed similar ships for the transportation of wagons six years ago, as well as in the mid 1980s when eight so-called “paromi” were constructed for the transportation of wagons. With today’s delivery, the collaboration between the current head people of the Azerbeijan State Caspian Shipping Company and Uljanik which started almost 28 years ago has once again been confirmed and deepened, forming a good and strong base for all future work.

The Contract for the construction of “Barda” was signed in May 2011 and the ship was launched into the sea on 10th May of this current year. Soon after the delivery of “Barda” Uljanik will deliver to the Azerbeijan Company a sister vessel named “Balaken”, the second ship of the series contracted for the transportation of wagons, which is currently in the final phase of outfitting before leaving for sea trials.
