Tanker „ALGOMA INNOVATOR“ constructed for Canadian client ALGOMA CENTRAL CORPORATION launched in the shipyard 3. MAJ

Yard 732 constructed by the shipyard 3. MAJ for the Canadian company ALGOMA CENTRAL CORPORATION was launched on 29th December 2016 at 11:30 from slipway number 1. The ship, having a length of 198m, width 23 m and deadweight of 24900 tonnes, is the first of five contracted self-unloading ships for the transportation of bulk cargo.

As these vessels are intended for sailing on the Great Lakes on the border between Canada and USA, such navigation is that which actually determines their size and is the reason for this type of vessel being classified as a special category. On behalf of the Uljanik Group and the shipyard 3. Maj, the Manager of the Mounting Department of the shipyard 3. MAJ, Mr. Damir Mucić, greeted all the attendees and thanked all the engineers and workers who took part in the design and construction of the vessel for their effort and commitment. Mr. Mucić also wished the godmother of the vessel, Mrs Daniela Kovačević Pavičić, to perform her duty as godmother successfully as well as wishing the vessel calm seas.

The launching operation was successfully led by the launching master, Mr. Željko Vučković, while the Reverend Luka Lučić blessed the vessel and wished the vessel and its crew calm seas.

With the cutting of the rope and releasing the vessel into the sea, the Godmother of the vessel, Mrs Daniela Kovačević Pavičić, wished the vessel calm seas.
